Department Of Cardiology

The department of Cardiology handles all acute cardiac emergencies and also runs a number of clinics to look after the needs of the patients with chronic illnesses. The coronary intensive care unit has seven beds, and facilities for invasive monitoring. Plans are afoot to start cardiac catheterization lab with facilities for angiograms and angioplasties by the end of this year. The department currently offers the following:

  • Team of 2 qualified and experienced Cardiologists headed by Prof. Dr. Annamalai MD. DM and Dr. Chacko Ambatt supported by junior doctors, specially trained technicians and nurses.
  • 7 bedded Intensive Coronary Care Unit with high end monitors
  • Colour Doppler with Colour Printer (Echo Cardiography)
  • Computerized Treadmill
  • Holter Monitoring
  • Thrombolytic Therapy
  • Temporary Pace Maker facility
